I'm off work tomorrow, and the forecast calls for rain and chilly weather, so i want to make a creamy chicken soup for dinner tomorrow. The kind that coats the back of your throat with creamy goodness and that makes your taste buds scream for more, I have all day tomorrow so I want a recipe that takes a long time to make the longer the better When I cook in the kitchen I want to cook I will have a few quests joining me so I want a recipe that makes a big batch thanks in advanced :)Creamy chicken noodle soup recipe with vegetables?
* 1 chicken, cut up
* Water
* 4 celery stalks, sliced
* 1 onion,chopped
* 1/4 cup butter or margarine
* 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 2 teaspoons salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 3 cups thin egg noodles
* 1 cup hal-and-half
add in cup of carrots
Directions
1. In a Dutch oven or stewing pot, cover chicken with water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes or until tender. Remove chiken. Reserve broth.
2. Bone and shred chicken. Set aside. Discard bones and skin.
3. Saute celery and onion in butter until soft. Add flour. Cook, stirring, until golden brown. Add reserved broth, salt and black pepper. Bring to boil.
4. Add noodles. Cook until noodles are tender, stirring occasionally.
